Shopify Products say "Sold Out" Fix
Share
There are a few common reasons a product shows as "sold out" even when you've added inventory. Here's what to check:
1. Inventory tracking settings Make sure the product isn't set to stop selling when out of stock and that inventory tracking is actually enabled. If tracking is on and the quantity isn't being saved correctly, it can still show as sold out.
2. Shipping profile issue (most common cause) Shopify checks more than just inventory — it also checks whether the product can be shipped. If your product isn't included in a shipping profile that has valid shipping rates, Shopify can display it as sold out even with positive inventory. Go to Settings > Shipping and delivery and confirm:
- The product is in a shipping profile that has rates configured
- The shipping origin for that profile has rates that apply to your customers' zones
3. Location assignment If your inventory is assigned to a specific location, make sure that location is enabled to fulfill online orders. A location without online fulfillment enabled won't count toward storefront availability.
4. Product/variant status Double-check that the product is published (not in draft) and that the specific variant isn't set to unavailable.
